Every Asset Transfer Is a Bitcoin Transaction
Assets move inside Bitcoin transactions, next to the BTC in each output. OneOP_RETURN output in each transaction records which assets move, and to which outputs. Bitcoin needs no changes to support this.
Each asset has a permanent asset ID. Its metadata, such as its name and ticker, is set at issuance and can’t change. To keep the option to issue more units later, the issuer names a control asset at issuance. Whoever holds the control asset can increase the supply. Without a control asset, or after it is burned, the supply is fixed.
